AE Rookies presented a course to 30 accounting faculty from various departments (audit, financial accounting and taxation). The curriculum was designed as a formative experience; insights gained during initial program sessions were applied to those that occurred later in the program. Some pre-work was required to enhance the overall educational experience. The program included the following sessions:

Stephen Coetzee, Astrid Schmulian and Cecile Janse van Rensburg were recognized for outstanding teaching and teaching related activities as lecturers who clearly demonstrate that they make a significant contribution to enhancing students' learning experience. Their students are introduced to accounting principles and rules in pre-readings and videos. Their classroom blends didactic explanations of complex principles and rules, including applications thereof, while encouraging interaction of students with each other and with the instructors. This accounting team has embraced the flipped classroom approach, incorporating elements of constructivism in their teaching. If at first you don't succeed try doing what your professor told you to do the first time... On Friday 3 June 2016, we hosted a BootCamp for our intermediate accounting students to assist them in preparing for their mid year assessment. Deloitte kindly sponsored coffee and muffins for the students to energize them for the day. The all-day Boot Camp was inspired by the success of our 2015 Boot Camp and Jackson, M. (2014).
