Stephen and Astrid attended the Transformative Power of Teacher Teams course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education between 1 and 3 May 2016. Teacher Teams is a leadership development program for educators in a variety of roles. The purpose of the course is for educators to learn how to work more effectively in a team to address issues of curriculum and pedagogy collaboratively. The participants are encouraged to identify issues and topics that concern them, and to learn how to use resources -- both from within the team itself and from outside experts -- to improve teaching and learning. The Transformative Power of Teacher Teams Institute was developed to help educators understand the many dimensions of teacher teams, the challenging cultural and instructional realities faced every day, and the potential of an individual and a team to transform their institution by focusing their work on the task of improving their practice to improve the success of their students. |
